Community Partnerships

We don’t just represent the people of our communities. We are the people of our communities.

Insight Hour
The Insight Hour events were introduced last year as an occasion for community and business leaders to learn more about the Blood Center and its pioneering research programs. Sponsoring restaurants in our region host these wine and appetizer receptions, which include a short presentation from Executive Vice President for Research, José A. López, MD. This engaging, informal atmosphere gives attendees the chance to speak with scientists and Blood Center executives one-on-one about our worldwide leadership role in the scientific and medical communities.

Hometown Heroes Support the Blood Center
Partnerships with the Seattle Mariners Baseball Club and the Seattle Seahawks raise community awareness through displays, promotional events, and instadium announcements. With the generous sponsorship of these sports clubs, and Anheuser-Busch, we have raised thousands to benefit our research programs, and communicated our message to millions of fans.

In appreciation of the exceptional efforts of our donors and volunteers, Puget Sound Blood Center hosted our annual Partners In Life luncheon in January. Nearly 1,000 people gathered at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle to honor all those who have made significant contributions throughout the year. We are fortunate to have the largest volunteer group in Washington State, which is a great testament to the relationship between the Blood Center and our community. This year marked the 10th anniversary of this event, with five additional events held across the region to recognize contributors to our 11 other donor centers.
