NMDP is pleased to offer “Babies are Amazing”, a new cord blood video developed to support your cord blood bank’s education and recruitment efforts. This 5-minute video (viewable through the link below) is designed to quickly engage expectant parents, educate them about public cord blood donation and encourage them to donate their baby’s cord blood to a public cord blood bank.

Your cord blood bank can use this video in a variety of ways, including:

• Post on your Web site (posting instructions were provided to your Collections subcommittee representative)
• View with expectant parents during one-on-one consultations
• Include in recruitment packets
• Distribute at community health fairs
• Provide to:
  -- Prenatal educators to use in childbirth classes or hospital tours
  -- OB/GYNs and midwives to help them educate their patients
  -- Clinics to play in clinic or hospital waiting rooms

Additionally, the NMDP will be sharing this DVD with expectant parents and the general public in a number of ways, including: on BeTheMatch.org/cord Web site, through various social networking sites and blogs, and through distribution to healthcare reporters in the national media.
