For patients who have not been transfused or pregnant in the preceding three months, pretransfusion testing can occur at the time of other preoperative laboratory work. Please note: requires the ordering facility to designate a coordinator and to submit written procedures to the Compatibility Testing Laboratory for review. A preadmission ABO, Rh, and antibody screen are performed on a sample drawn up to 10 days before surgery.
