The patient and potential donors should be scheduled for initial testing, which includes HLA and ABO typing. The patient’s serum is crossmatched with lymphocytes from the potential donors and from the patient.
- Patient Specimens Required: 50 ml ACD blood, 14-20 ml clotted blood
- Donor Specimens Required: 50 ml ACD blood, 14-20 ml clotted blood
- Analytic Time: 5 to 10 days unless additional HLA typing required
- Days Test is Set Up: Monday through Friday
