Lymphocyte crossmatches are performed with donor cells and recipient’s post-transplant serum to test for antibodies to donor antigens. The laboratory must be notified of the latest doses of anti-lymphocyte antibody treatments (ATG, ALG, OKT3, Rituximab) when samples are submitted for post-transplant testing, as these can complicate the interpretation of results.
The STAT version of this test (3088-02) is applied when results are required within 6 hours.
- Specimens Required: 7-10 ml clotted blood (or 3-5 ml serum). Additional ACD blood may be required by the Immunogenetics Laboratory
- Analytic Time: 24 hours - routine; 6 hours if STAT - will incur additional cost
