Patient serum is crossmatched against donor lymphocytes to detect antibodies against the donor, and against the patient's own lymphocytes to detect autoantibodies. T-cell and B-cell crossmatches are performed using a flow cytometry technique. T-cell crossmatches may also be performed using an antiglobulin-enhanced complement dependent cytotoxicity technique.
If results are required within 24 hours, the Lymphocyte Crossmatch – STAT transaction code (3088-02) applies instead. |
