Potential progenitor cell, bone marrow or solid organ donors are tested for ABO and Rh type to determine compatibility with transplant recipient. Also, an antibody screen (indirect antiglobulin test) is performed to determine the presence of preformed red blood cell alloantibodies in the donor serum.
