Donor Battery

The battery consists of: HBsAg, anti-HBc, anti-HCV, anti- HIV-1/-2, anti-HTLV-I/-II, STS and HCV/HIV/HBV NAT.

  • Sample Required: Clear, nonhemolyzed serum (7 ml clot preferred) and 7 ml EDTA unopened sample.

PLEASE NOTE: Serum collected in BD (Becton Dickinson) Vacutainer Serum Separator Tubes is not acceptable for the HBsAg assay that is included in this testing panel.

Because performance has not been established for all assays on cadaveric specimens, cadaveric samples may give inconsistent results for the following tests: anti-HTLV-I/HTLV-II and HBV NAT.

  • Expected Results: See individual tests.
  • Testing and Reporting:

    Testing is conducted 7 days a week.

    Reports for samples received Monday through Friday before 5:00 PM will generally be available by noon the following day. (If samples are received after 5:00 PM, the reports will be available by noon the second day after receipt).

    Reports for samples received Friday after 5:00 PM but before Sunday 2:00 PM will generally be available by noon Monday morning.

    Reports for samples received after 2:00 PM on Sunday will not be available until noon Tuesday morning.
