Volunteer donors are the only source of blood and blood components for transfusion. More than 700 volunteers must donate blood each day to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Western Washington hospitals.
Puget Sound Blood Center is unique because of our focus on the local community's blood needs. Our priority is to meet the local patients' needs, and we collect blood donations only in areas where we provide blood for the community.
Puget Sound Blood Center donors are volunteers who share their community spirit and good health with others. The blood and blood components donated by volunteer, non-paid, screened donors carry labels that read "volunteer donor." |
