Super Jock 'n' Jill Half Marathon and Fun Run

The Tradition Lives On
Another great Super Jock 'n' Jill Half Marathon and Fun Run/Walk event brought together walkers and runners for an important cause. In spite of threatening weather early in the morning, temperatures were warm and eventually the sun burned through the gray cloud cover.

As always, the epicenter for this Labor Day weekend tradition is the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville. Half marathon walkers began their 13-mile trek alongside the Sammamish Slough, near the brewery, at 8:00a.m. Runners and 4K walk participants started their event on the road way in front of the brewery an hour later. A portion of entry fee proceeds benefit life saving programs at the Blood Center.

Runners, walkers, their friends and supporters meandered amongst a gathering of tents and booths set up in the grassy Redhook Bowl. Participants and their friends and family could enjoy a relaxing massage, healthy foods and refreshments while listening to live music. An awards presentation ceremony also followed the run. Participants came from as far away as Toronto and New Zealand.

A huge “Thank You” to the City of Woodinville, the Woodinville Police and Fire departments and King County Sheriff’s department. Each of these organizations make it possible for us to enjoy another Super Jock ‘n’ Jill Half Marathon and Fun Run/Walk.

We look forward to another great event on Labor Day 2008. As that date approaches you can find more information by visiting Super Jock ‘n’ Jill’s Greenlake store, or visit them online.
