In a long career filled with achievement, Sherrill Slichter, M.D., on April 15 received yet another honor when she was officially elected to membership of the Association of American Physicians.
Founded in 1885, the Association is a prestigious and exclusive organization that admits only 55 new members annually; the fewer than 1,500 active and emeritus members represent the best medical minds in the country.
Dr. Slichter’s election to the Association was based on the many discoveries of her pioneering and continuing work on platelet transfusion research at Puget Sound
Blood Center.
