SEPTEMBER 25, 2000, SEATTLE — Puget Sound Blood Center is opening a new donation facility in Lynnwood. Lynnwood Mayor Tina Roberts, a former Blood Center employee, will be there to cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Blood Center officials say the new facility is needed to help keep up with the ever-growing need for blood at local hospitals. This year the Blood Center aims to collect 200,000 units of blood. The facility in Lynnwood is expected to collect approximately 7,500 units of blood per year.
Center hours: Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 8 p.m.
