FEBRUARY 27, 2001, SEATTLE — Faces For Life is a local fundraiser to benefit the Puget Sound Blood Center. An extraordinary Faces For Life exhibit will be held at Bellevue Square March 3-31. This month-long event will feature over 200 one-of-a-kind decorated ceramic masks, by such celebrities as Muhammad Ali, Garth Brooks, and Andre Agassi. Interested buyers can make an online bid for their favorite mask, or visit www.facesforlife.org and connect to the auction.
In addition to the Faces For Life exhibit, Bellevue Square will host several events throughout the month in continued support of the Puget Sound Blood Center.
More than 200 coveted masks from celebrities such as Dale Chihuly; Jeff Probst, host of Survivor; Sylvester Stallone and Kenny G will be on display throughout The Square. Interested buyers have can make an on-line bid for a one-of-a-kind mask from their favorite celebrity by visiting the bidding station in Center Court, or by visiting www.facesforlife.org. All proceeds benefit the Puget Sound Blood Center and their life-saving research programs.
STAR 101.5 kicks off Faces For Life from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Join STAR 101.5 as they host a mask painting party in Center Court and auction off a ceramic mask decorated by Shawn Mullins. For a suggested $5 minimum donation to the Puget Sound Blood Center, you can paint a mask with STAR 101.5 hosts. Ceramic masks and artistic assistance are donated by Creatively Yours, a ceramic painting studio. As the event finale, STAR 101.5 will award the Shawn Mullins mask to the highest bidder.
Talk Radio 570 KVI on-air personality Kirby Wilbur will host the Faces For Life blood drive on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Donate blood and sign an oversized mask with Kirby in honor of your precious blood donation. Donors will enjoy a rejuvenating treat from Auntie Anne's and Orange Julius, and a special goody bag full of great items from Bellevue Square merchants. Give the gift of life and support the Puget Sound Blood Center by donating blood on Saturday or Sunday.
KOMO NEWSTALK 1000 morning host Lisa Foster will kick off the Faces For Life kids day event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Kids can show off their creative talent by decorating paper masks in Center Court with Have Art We'll Travel. Winners from the Eastside Journal Faces For Life Children's Art Contest will paint their very own full-size ceramic mask on stage throughout the day.
Face painting comes in all different forms, and Faces of Fashion highlights the best in face makeovers and kids face painting. Bellevue Square cosmetic and beauty merchants come together to treat customers to a little pampering all in the name of fun. Treat yourself to a mini-facial or get makeover tips from stores such as inSpa, Origins, and Aveda Esthetique. While the adults are being pampered, children can get their faces painted with fun and decorative designs. Everyone walks away with something fun from our Faces of Fashion day in Center Court.
