FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARCH 25, 2001, SEATTLE — Puget Sound Blood Center reminds adults throughout Western Washington to give blood this Memorial Day weekend, a holiday that traditionally sees an increase in car and boat accidents that result in traumatic injuries requiring blood transfusions. With current blood supplies at low levels, more than the average daily number of blood donors is required to meet the anticipated need.
The five Puget Sound Blood Center donation sites that are normally open on Mondays will also be open for whole blood and apheresis collections on Monday, May 28, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. They are located in Bellevue, Tukwila, North Seattle, Seattle and Lynnwood.
The Blood Center has nine donation sites in all, with most open on Saturday, and Lynnwood open on Sunday.
Call 1-800-398-7888 to make an appointment to donate.
