Blood Centers Open July 4th

JUNE 21, 2001, SEATTLE — Puget Sound Blood Center is preparing for emergency blood needs over the holiday by keeping donation centers open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 4.

“Traditionally, more people use the highways and engage in outdoor activities on the Fourth of July. Both factors increase the potential for serious injuries that may require blood transfusions,” said Blood Center spokesman A.J. Pasquarelli. “In order to keep the blood supply at stable levels, we encourage people to donate blood any day during the holiday week.
