Blood Donors Needed Memorial Day Weekend

Puget Sound Blood Center reminds adults throughout Western Washington to give blood this Memorial Day weekend, a holiday that traditionally sees an increase in car and boat accidents that result in traumatic injuries requiring blood transfusions.

Consequently, more than the average daily number of blood donors may be required to meet the anticipated need for blood.

The five Puget Sound Blood Center donation sites that are normally open on Mondays will also be open for whole blood and apheresis collections on Monday, May 27, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. They are located in Bellevue, Seattle, Tukwila, North Seattle, and Lynnwood.

The Blood Center has nine donation sites in all, with most open Tuesday through Saturday, and Lynnwood open on Sunday. For addresses, directions and more information, visit the Blood Center’s Web site, www.psbc.org.

Please call 1-800-398-7888 to make an appointment to donate.
